After some big projects getting class samples made and up to Cary Quilting, I decided to do some small, yet satisfying projects to help organize my home office.

I have been working on organization all summer since my house is fairly small, but my amount of things to organize is big. I had a lot of wasted space where my Silhouette cutting machine is, so I found this desk shelf on Amazon that was wide enough to bridge the space the machine takes up. It also makes agood place to displey the pretty items that I have – including the ones I have made.

These are the Divide and Organize Basket (from this Etsy seller) and two of the Just in Case Pouch by Aneela Hoey. These were all quick & satisfying projects to make. The divided basket is prefect for small, often-needed office supplies. The two zip-around cases are great for storing essential, but less-often needed items.
Some of the other projects on this shelving unit include some small pouches by Sew Sweetness as well as her Hildegarde trunk from Minikins series 4.
I also have this cute little milk carton storing some office supplies as well.

The pattern for this is the Retro Carton Pouch by Crafty Lil Mouse. I need to make more of these. I think it would be an awesome platform for embroidery on the sides.
Another home office project (since this is where I keep my embroidery machine was this cute little basket to keep some supplies handy in. The pattern is The Social Tote by Carolyn Friedlander.

As I go into my last year of teaching before retiring from the public education system, it’s helpful to have a relaxing spot at home for when I do need to take a little work home. Of course, I also need a fun back for work, so I made this bag, The Portfolio Tote by Quilts Illustrated. I love how it came out in these fun, colorful, Mediterranean-themed fabrics.

I included some close-up pictures of how I turned the back inside out and sewed the bottom in place for extra support. I also made the Pierce Crossbody backpack from The League of Extraordinary Bagmakes Vol. 2 to match. I just changed the width of the strap to match.
